Reference notes
A screwdriver drives a matching screw; a wrench or socket fits the fastener flats; a torque wrench applies a specified tightening value; safety-wire pliers twist and tension locking wire; and a multimeter measures electrical values.
A steel rule (steel ruler) measures simple length, a vernier caliper measures outside, inside and depth dimensions, a micrometer measures small dimensions precisely, and feeler gauges measure clearance. Pressure testers must match the system and pressure range.
Use the correct size and type, keep tools clean, inspect them before use, and return controlled tools after the job. Torque wrenches and test instruments require current calibration status.
