Fuel Feed and Fire Protection
Fuel must be stored, filtered, measured and delivered in the approved grade. Fire protection is two independent halves — detection and extinguishing — and both have service dates that ground the bottle when they lapse.
Reference notes
Fuel systems store, filter, measure and deliver the approved fuel grade. Tanks, vents, boost pumps, selectors, strainers, crossfeed valves and quantity sensors must work together and remain free of contamination and leaks.
Fire protection combines detection and extinguishing. Detection may use thermal switches or continuous loops; extinguishing systems use bottles, discharge valves, squibs and routed pipes. Check service dates and pressure indications.
Contain suspected leaks, control ignition sources and follow the aircraft maintenance data. A fuel stain or fire-system discrepancy is a finding, not normal wear.
